Sai Mai has been running trips in Thailand and Burma for more than 10 years. She was built in 1993 of the finest Asian hardwoods, and after a full interior refit in 2002, the boat is looking very good. At 21m in length, Sai Mai is a comfortable boat, offering a variety of shorter and longer cruises in Thailand and the Mergui Archipelago. All cabins with en suite bathrooms for just 8 divers. Two cabins with double bed and two with bunk bed. For all certified Nitrox Divers - Sai Mai has Nitrox on board - courses also available.

Sai Mai has 4 spacious guest cabins for only 8 guests. Two en suite cabins with double bed plus one extra bed on the lower deck, one en suite twin bunk cabin on the lower deck and one on the main deck. All cabins have individually controllable airconditioning. For dive groups and full charters Sai Mai can accommodate a maximum of 10 divers for the price of 8 divers.

The upper deck dining and relaxation area is tastefully furnished and gives enough space for everyone to enjoy the mix of Thai and Western food served onboard. The upper deck is also equipped with a TV and video system, and a laptop computer is available for photo editing. There is also a 20 sq metre sun deck for the sun worshippers. The Sai Mai's dive deck is ample for the small groups of divers on board.

Sai Mai runs an interesting schedule with a mix of Mergui Archipelago tours and Similan safaris of varying lengths. Overall, the boat is comfortable without being luxury, has a small group of divers, and offers an excellent deal, especially for the Burma (Mergui Archipelago) cruises.
MV Sai Mai - Trip Itinerary (8 days / 9 nights)
Thailand & Burma
Departure day - Pick up around 15:00 in Phuket and 17:00 in Khao Lak, transfer to MV Sai Mai at Thap Lamu. Dinner on board. Cruise to Similan Islands.
1st Diving day - 4 dives at Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai area, cruise into Ranong overnight.
2nd Diving day - Clear Immigration and cruise into the Mergui Archipelago - about 2 dives in Burma.
3rd - 6th Diving day - 4 dives per day in Burma - Mergui Archipelago and Burma Banks.
7th Diving day - 2 dives in Burma; return to Ranong. Immigration Procedures.
7th Diving day - 4 dives in the Similan Islands.
Arrival day - Disembark in Thap Lamu after breakfast. Transfer provided back to Phuket or Khao Lak.
*Exact dive sites are decided en route based on currents, weather, customer choice, big fish sightings etc..
