Hin Muang - Purple Rock

General Information

Hin Muang is a submerged ridge near Hin Daeng around 55km south of the Phi Phi Islands. The name means Purple Rock due to the purple anemones on the rock. It's a generally more advanced dive site than Hin Daeng as there is little in the way of shallow areas and little shelter if a current is running. But currents mean big fish...

Can be ripping. You may have to hang on and watch the Mantas...

Marine Life

Did someone say Mantas? Whalesharks? Ok no guarantees, but Hin Muang and Hin Daeng are among the best places for the big stuff. If you don't see them, keep your nose on the rock and search for critters, there's always something going on, Danny.
