The Fusilier is a tropical fish species that belongs to the Fusilier family Caesionidae. This species has a broad distribution from the Malaysian Peninsula and south-west Japan to Australia and New Guinea. In Australia it is known to occur from Exmouth in Western Australia around the north to the Solitary Islands in northern New South Wales. The Fusiliers are a small tropical family mostly restricted to the Indo-Pacific region. Fusiliers are closely related to the Snappers but are schooling, smallish fishes with streamlined bodies that patrol the Reefs and Walls.
