High Season for Thailand Liveaboards
The high season for diving on the west coast of Thailand is here! The best weather in the area around the Similan Islands, Phuket, Khao Lak and Phi Phi is from now until April. While we have local day trips year round, there are liveaboards operating only during high season heading out to the Similans and further north to Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands. There are liveaboard trips to suit all budgets from bargain boats such as the Dolphin Queen or South Siam 3, through mid price boats such as Hallelujah and Pawara, up to some very nice new luxurious boats.
NEW this year ... the Diva Andaman has actually been around for a couple of seasons, but mostly as a charter boat. This season she has a full schedule of 6 night trips to the Similan islands and Richelieu Rock. the 'Diva' takes only 14 guests, has a huge amount of deck space and is truly a luxury boat with high class decor, a full time chef, a good wine selection and even a free bottle of champagne per cabin! Up to 4 dives per day can be made though many guests are happy to make less, and spend time relaxing or maybe using one of the kayaks that the boat carries. Certainly the most comfortable and unique boat in the area. There is space available on many trips, though the Diva is full already for the New Year period.
It might be a bit pushy to say "Book Now!", but it's always a good idea to book in advance if you want to guarantee space on the best liveaboards. Other top quality boats that we recommend this season are the White Manta (launched earlier in 2011) and the Giamani. As one of the top liveaboard agents in Asia, we always work hard to ensure that all boats we offer provide a good quality of service no matter what the price.. just don't be expecting free champagne if you pay "cup of tea" prices :)

10% Discount on Mermaid 2 in Komodo!
The Mermaid 2 liveaboard (see photo on the right) moved permanently to Indonesia earlier this year having spent many years hopping back and forth between the Similan Islands and Komodo taking advantage of the Thai off season to dive elsewhere. The Mermaid 2 schedule includes diving in Komodo and Raja Ampat. Some new trips have been added in January and February 2012 most of which start and end in Bali, heading out to Komodo for 7 night cruises. All available space in the first 2 months of 2012 has a 10% discount. That means a saving of up to 180 Euro per person.
Sunrise Divers has been offering Komodo liveaboards for many years and launched a dedicated website (komodoliveaboards.com) earlier this year. If you have booked with us before in Thailand and want something new, ask us for Komodo or Raja Ampat options!

A few words on the weather - you may have seen pictures on TV, on the web, in the papers of flooding in Thailand in recent weeks. Mostly the flooding was north of Bangkok and in suburbs of Bangkok. Some flooding still remains. Phuket is 800km south of Bangkok and has not been affected at all by floods. It's high season and the weather here is typical for the time of year - hot, sunny with occasional thunder and rain in the evenings. Great weather for diving as always at this time of year. We hope to see you here sometime soon!
Whether you have booked with us before or if you haven’t yet made it, we hope you will consider Sunrise Divers for booking your next dive trip to Thailand or Indonesia. Don't forget that return liveaboard guests can ask for a discount of up to 10%. If you are thinking of visiting Phuket or want to dive the Similan islands, we will be happy to see you in the flesh! If you have any questions, please do ask.
Wishing you very happy diving,
Sunrise Divers, Phuket Thailand
