The Similan Islands National Marine Park consists of 9 islands, and lies about 60km offshore, and about 100 km from Phuket. The variety of the dive sites with mixed underwater topography and bountiful marine life has made this a very popular area for scuba diving. Due to the remote location, a liveaboard is the best way to see the Similan islands, though day trips are just about possible. Most of the photos in this gallery were taken between November 2004 and March 2005 by Wayne Bell, a divemaster on the Le Mahe liveaboard. Wayne did his PADI divemaster course here at Sunrise Divers. He admits to not being a photo pro, but still manages to capture some nice shots! You can see a larger view by clicking on each photo.
