Liveaboard diving to the Similans from Phuket with the "West Coast Explorer" gives you the chance to have your Similan Islands liveaboard diving adventure at a price which will not break the bank. With more than half a dozen years experience operating from Phuket, this is a simple, well run liveaboard and we have had many happy divers returning from trips with the Explorer and her friendly crew. A very good lower budget option.

There are eight twin cabins, all air conditioned, with 3 shared bathrooms and an air conditioned salon. With a maximum of 16 guests, there is ample space for relaxation on board - you can roast on the sun deck, take a seat in the shade or cool off in the salon. The West Coast Explorer continues to set a high standard and is good value for money.
Note: The main deck cabins are generally considered nicer than the 2 cabins on the lower deck, so advance booking is a good idea to ensure you get these cabins. The cabins are the same, just on the main deck you have a window.
Between dives, you have plenty of opportunity to take a walk on some of the Similans or jump overboard and snorkel in the shallow waters of a quiet bay. The experienced crew of the West Coast Explorer are always on hand to help divers get the most from your liveaboard diving cruise.
The dive deck is spacious, well organised and monitored by CCTV for your safety. The West Coast Explorer is also equipped with a 4m dinghy, and all of the most modern navigation and communication equipment. Explorer departs from the port of Thap Lamu, 90 minutes North of Phuket. Transfer from Phuket or Khao Lak is included in the price. Pick up also possible from Phuket International Airport.
West Coast Explorer - Trip Itinerary (4 days / 4 nights)
Diving Similans & Richelieu Rock
Departure day - Pick up around 16:30 - 17:00 in Phuket, transfer to the Explorer at Thap Lamu. Cruise to Similan Islands. Dinner is served on board.
1st - 3rd Diving days - 4 dives per day - exact itinerary varies*
4th Diving day - 2 dives and return to Thap Lamu. Transfer to Phuket provided, arriving at about 6pm.
Hotels in Khao Lak - if you stay in Khao Lak, pick up will be at about 7 - 7:30pm.
*Dive sites are decided en route based on currents, weather, customer choice, big fish sightings etc.. A typical 4 day / 4 night trip includes the Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai and Koh Bon.
