Snorkeling trips in Phuket

  

Snorkel tours around Phuket, Phi Phi and the Similan Islands are very popular with many sites offering shallow coral reefs perfect for snorkeling. Close to Phuket, you can visit Koh Racha Yai on a day trip, or take a slightly longer trip to the Phi Phi islands.

The Similan Islands or the Phi Phi area are some of the best spots for both diving and snorkeling in Thailand. During the high season (November to May) there are day trips, overnight tours and also the chance to stay for longer on a "liveaboard" boat and enjoy the beauty of the Similan Islands for several days.

We are a diving company and the tours we offer mostly cater to divers, but you can join a day trip diving boat and do some snorkeling whilst the divers are underwater. If you enjoy snorkeling why not learn to scuba dive? We run a full range of PADI introductory scuba courses for novice divers.

Snorkel Day Trips from Phuket

Sunrise Divers offers year round trips for diving and snorkeling at nearby islands such as Koh Racha Yai and Phi Phi. When choosing a trip for snorkeling it's important that the sites include shallow reefs - if we drop you over a 30m deep wreck, you are only going to see water! Many of our diving day trips are not suitable for snorkelers. Our top recommendation is to charter the Offspray speedboat to Phi Phi. Trips are for divers or snorkelers, there's plenty of shallow coral, you get a picnic lunch on the beach and some sightseeing around the islands too!

If you're feeling like more than snorkeling, then why not discover scuba diving? You can make 2 dives on this trip with a dive instructor who will show you the basics and hold your hand underwater. This can be done on the Offspray charter or on a slower boat, we have trips headingto Koh Racha Yai every day, and to Phi Phi a couple of times per week.

Similan Islands Snorkeling Options

  

Get a taste of paradise...

The Similan Islands National Park is some 100km from Phuket. It's one of the most popular dive destinations in Thailand and rightly so! Snorkelers can also join trips to enjoy the clear shallow waters in front of the beaches. We have a few different options for snorkeling the Similan islands. Trips run from November - April only.

Day trips to the Similans are possible with departures from Phuket or Khao Lak. It's a long way for a day trip and we do recommend an overnight trip if you have time.

Short liveaboard trips are also possible on the South Siam 3 liveaboard. This boat caters to both divers and snorkelers, making it useful for mixed groups, but the non diver price is quite high. Other liveaboards run trips for at least 4 days - non divers are welcome to join their diving partners or friends on board but snorkeling opportunites may be limited on these boats as the focus is 100% on diving at the best dive sites.
