The last week has seen great weather - calm seas, sunshine, just occasional showers and some very nice diving! Divers reported 30m visibility at the King Cruiser Wreck, which is about as good as it gets. The previous weekend was very wet - we had about 4 days of rain and fairly strong winds - you can see some rainy pictures on Jamie's Phuket Weather Blog around August 16th - 18th. But that's all water under the bridge now - let's enjoy these sunny days!

The sun continues, in fact it's been really hot for the last few days. the beach still has sizeable waves as the west winds blow, but it's been a very good few days for diving or sunning yourself. Pretty quiet around Karon, as usually happens at this time of year. The package tours always seem to prefer Patong. If you want 3km of beach to yourself (almost), come to Karon!

The sun is shining, but it's got windy the last few days. We even had a cancelled dive trip on Sunday. Wind makes waves, which we don't like! We don't mind a bit of rain, but bouncy seas are a drag. Today, Karon beach was looking very nice, but the waves meant no swimming. Forecast says a couple more days of wind, then calmer seas again.

With apologies for the lack of updates, though I have managed a few words on Jamie's Phuket Weather. I had a little holiday last week, and this week has been surprisingly busy for the "low season". It seems that many people are booking in advance for the coming high season, which is a good idea to be sure - Liveaboards are very popular these days and people turning up in Phuket and hoping to book on the spot are often left disapppointed. Sure we can probably find you something, but advance booking means you are way more likely to get exactly what you want, when you want it.
Oh, the weather - mostly sunny, some rain, usual low season fare. Good diving conditions, not much wind. I'll say it again - low season is a good time to come to Phuket for local diving, so long as you don't expect 24 hour sunshine and flat calm seas at the beach.
