Phuket Weather - January 2005
Friday January 28th
Has there been any rain the last 10 days? Don't think so. Still hot and sunny every day. The winds have become calmer and we are able to do some beach dives now. I pity the poor folk who cancelled their trips and are not here enjoying the sun and clean beaches...

No great surprise to learn that the weather is very good. Quite windy, with the east winds blowing dry and cool. Nights can cool down a few degrees. Garden needs watering every day! I can't remember the last rain. A very dry couple of weeks.

Well, it's not weather, but a Tsunami caused by an undersea Earthquake off Sumatra hit us on the 26th December. I'm sure everyone knows this already. The weather at the time was hot and sunny and has continued that way. Nights can be cool (mid 20's Celcius) and there are some days with a fair East wind. There's not been a wet day for weeks. The garden is begging for water.

Saturday December 18th
The last few days have been hot and sunny. Winds have died down again. Sometimes the East wind can be quite strong this time of year. I heard that a few dive boats had to alter itineraries during the last week to avoid more open seas.

More of the same, but we had a few windy days last week. On Thursday the Flyer hydrofoil had to cancel a trip to the Similan islands. A bit of typically tropical rain some afternoons, but generally great weather.

Updating the weather page in the high season is a little hard! We are rather busy. However, I can't recall any bad weather the last week, except a bit of nightly rain. The wind was strong yesterday, a cool easterly breeze.
