Phuket Weather - June 2005

Thursday June 30th

The week so far has been sunny pretty much all the time. Tuesday was really nice, Wednesday had some cloud, but divers certainly got their suntans. Today is more of the same. Oh, this wet season sure is a drag.

Monday June 27th

The weekend was so nice. Sunday was the best, sunniest day ever. Today is the same. There had been some rain and wind on Friday, but since then absolutely gorgeous weather. Sunday was 6 months since the tsunami. December 26th had also been a beautiful day...

Thursday June 23rd

Weather has been remarkably stable the last few days. Sunday was a little wet, Monday a bit dark, but the rest of this week has been mostly sunny, light winds and fair sailing. The rainy season is a myth. Wind has dropped off completely this afternoon, and maybe we'll get a thunderstorm tonight.

Saturday June 18th

Last few days have been a mixed bag, but nothing to write home about. Mostly sunny, light winds and some rain, but only quick, heavy showers. This is normal for the time of year, the weather is like a box of chocolates.

Wednesday June 15th

We took a trip over to Phi Phi today. Weather was hot and sunny. About 10 spots of rain fell on Phi Phi mid afternoon, and there was some rain over Phuket late afternoon, which we could see from the ferry. A little windy with 2m waves, but the boat was very stable and nobody was seasick. Got a good dose of sunburn from walking around in the middle of the day! Today is also warm and sunny with a breeze blowing.

Monday June 13th

Sunday was rather cloudy with some light rain, but the late afternoon cleared up to reveal a smiling moon. Monday is mostly sunny, some cloud, no rain, rather warm out.

Saturday June 11th

Oops. No updates for a couple of days. Been too busy.

Thursday started warm and dry but there was lots of rain in the afternoon and evening. Friday and today - warm, sunny, calm seas, absolutely perfect weather. You see, this is the rainy season in Thailand. You get some rain, but you get some beautiful days. And you get more sun than rain. It is a very nice time to come here.

Wednesday June 8th

Well, yesterday was pretty bad again especially in the morning. Today is dry, breezy and bright, though not exactly sunny. We are in one of these "good day - bad day" periods!

Monday June 6th

Sunday started with heavy rain and wind beating on the windows, though most of the day was dry. More rain during the night, but Monday looks like a nice day for diving. Broken cloud, not too hot, gentle breeze blowing. (Added later) Today is bloody lovely!

Saturday June 4th

A couple of 50/50 days to end the week. Some sun, some rain, sea with a few whitecaps but not rough. Normal weather for the time of year, no big storms but enough rain to ensure we can survive!

Wednesday June 1st

Rain stopped by mid afternoon yesterday, and today has been dry and bright so far. A bit of wind, but the sea looked calm off Karon Beach
