Those two wet and windy days led into a very nice weekend, with plenty of sunshine, though with clouds around. This whole week has been pretty nice, though there was rain a couple of mornings and one big downpour a couple of days ago. You can see more updates on Jamie's Phuket Weather Blog. We have had lots of divers this week - more than usual for June. Thanks for coming! See - the weather was pretty darn good, don't believe those low season myths! Well, finally some rain to talk about! All this sunshine is very dull for us weathermen! Monday was overcast and the wind started to pick up in the afternoon. There was strong wind and rain in the night continuing into Tuesday morning. Tuesday was a pretty wet day until the afternoon and there were some big waves too. Some dive boats did not go out. The photo below shows Karon beach yesterday.
Today is also wet and windy and again some dive boats decided to play safe and stay home. Tomorrow is meant to be much nicer with weather improving as we head to the weekend. You can find more updates and photos of the beach yesterday on Jamie's Phuket Weather Blog.

Despite the low season, I seem to be very busy! This is a great time of year for updating web sites, adding new features (such as our Blog), planning for the next high season. Sure we do have some divers around, and if you have been on a dive trip in the last week you will have probably had blue skies, calm seas and loads of space on the boat! The rainy season is a myth! OK, there was some rain overnight yesterday, but today has been sunny and dry here in Karon.

The weather continues absolutely gorgeous. Today has been clear blue skies all day long (yeh, OK a few wisps of cloud). I do like this wet season! Maybe this year we'll end up with another water shortage. Rain is needed, you know! We don't want Southern Thailand to turn into a desert! Here's a view from up in the hills behind Karon beach - just follow a small back road and see where it leads you...

The weather is like a box of chocolates. Hopefully those tasty Belgian ones in the shape of shells. You never know what you're going to get. After that one very wet day last week, everything got sunny again, though there was a little wind to stir up the seas. The weekend was hot, ideal for a BBQ or a swim at the beach or (of course) perfect for a dive! Sunday was very nice indeed. Today has seen plenty of dark clouds though the rain has not hit Karon beach yet. Rain showers are often very isolated. Here's "our temple" - photo taken yesterday:
