After several more great sunny days, we had a little rain yesterday, but almost no wind. Today however, it has rained almost all day. Just a reminder that this is actually the wet season! I feel a little sorry for the students we have in the pool this afternoon on this grey, wet day... Let's pray for sun tomorrow!

Many apologies for the lack of updates over the last 3 weeks! Jamie has been on holiday, but you can find some updates on his Phuket Weather Blog. There was some really wet and windy weather in the first 2 weeks of May, though some days were still sunny and warm. The weather was similar all over Thailand for a while, with ferries cancelled to Koh Samui and flooding in the North of Thailand. Things have all settled down again now, as is normal for the start of the so-called wet season. The weather at this time of year is more good than bad, many days are like today - hot, sunny, calm seas, absolutely gorgeous - see photo of Karon Beach taken this morning...

Looks like the low season is just around the corner. The last few days have seen some heavy downpours, though still hardly any wind. Yesterday the clouds moved in from the west - a sure sign of changing seasons and the rain lasted most of the day. Today we had some rain in the morning and things have been pretty grey all day.

Guess what? Still sunny and hot with some thunder in the evenings. A few days ago the morning was grey and drizzly, but cleared up by midday. Songkran day (13th April) was hot and very wet (see Songkran 2007 Photos). Dive conditions are great right now all over the Andaman Sea.

The sun continues, every day is a joy to behold... There has been some evening rain and thunder but nothing to be concerned about. In a few days it's Songkran - the Thai new year festival. We close our shop on the 13th, coz things just get too wet with everyone throwing water around. A welcome relief from the heat. The "high" season has just a few weeks left, though normally the good weather continues well into May. Hope to see you in Phuket soon!

This week has been mostly glorious sunshine, with just a couple of evening showers to make sure we don't get too hot. Winds have been light, though it was rather blowy this morning. The diving has been excellent around the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock. Whalesharks have been seen, manta rays, even Minke Whales and (amazingly) Orcas.
