Indonesia is a huge and varied country above and below water. Within it's borders, Indonesia boasts more than 15,000 islands, most of them uninhabited, and many barely explored. The vast expanses of island dotted tropical ocean are only now opening up to regular liveaboard trips. Although Sunrise Divers are based in Thailand, we have investigated number of liveaboard options in Indonesia ranging from short diving and sailing trips around Komodo to full blown adventure cruises around the islands of Raja Ampat.

The Mermaid 1 and Mermaid 2 liveaboards, which cruise in Thailand and Burma during the Andaman Sea high season (November - April) head to Bali from June - October, running 7 - 9 day cruises to Komodo. Other boats such as Komodo Dancer and Mona Lisa have varied schedules and stay in Indonesian waters year round. New for 2010, the Queen Scuba liveaboard will be heading from Thailand to Bali for the summer season too.

Most liveaboard boats are also available for charters. If you have a group of divers or if you're trying to book dive club trip why not book the whole boat? This gives you more freedom to choose dates, dive sites and destinations, and more flexibility in the itinerary. Also charters normally include free places for group leaders.
