The Dolphin Queen Liveaboard will suit those looking for a lower price Similan Islands trip. If you're backpacking or on a tight budget, this could be the one for you. Despite being a low price, Dolphin Queen is professionally run with friendly staff, good food and of course, great diving. There are several cabin types to choose from, all with aircon. Bathrooms are shared. It's a no frills boat that attracts a mainly younger crowd looking for a cheap, fun trip.

The main deck has 8 cabins - two double and four quad bunk, all air conditioned. There are 2 larger cabins with double beds on the upper deck. In all, Dolphin Queen will take up to 24 guests.

The upper deck is where you can find the wheelhouse at the bow. At the stern is the eating area. Here you can help yourself with coffee, tea, water, electrolyte drinks and fruits which are always on the table. Breakfast is European style with toast, omelets, fried eggs, sausages, corn flakes, muesli and fruits. Lunch and Dinner are served buffet style with Thai food. You will find a TV so any videos made on the trip can be reviewed, or watch a movie. There is also a stereo so you can relax with some of your favourite music.
On the main deck at the stern is the dive platform which has plenty of room to store and prepare your gear. The Dolphin Queen has 3 boat crew, who are there to help you gear up and help with your entry and exit. There are 3 toilets with showers plus 2 showers on the dive deck. The galley is also located on the main deck. Your onboard food is prepared by the cook and her assistant who can cater for special needs.

Dolphin Queen - Trip Itinerary (4 days / 4 nights)
Liveaboard Thailand - Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock
Departure day - Pick up around 14:30 in Phuket, transfer to Dolphin Queen at Thap Lamu. Cruise to Similan Islands. Dinner is served on board.
1st - 3rd Diving days - 4 dives per day - exact itinerary varies*
4th Diving day - 2 dives and return to Thap Lamu. Transfer to your hotel, arriving at about 6pm in Phuket.
Transfer from/to Khao Lak also possible - note that tranfer from/to Phuket is 600 Baht per person each way.
*Dive sites are decided en route based on currents, weather, customer choice, big fish sightings etc.. A typical 4 day / 4 night trip includes the Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai and Koh Bon.
